You Are Never Alone in This Country

By Aleksandar Cvetanović, Oxford School

Some people say that Serbia is one of the worst countries in the world.

I totally disagree with that statement.

Serbia is a land of opportunities where every insufficient-educated, rich and powerful person can rule, and make important decisions.

But look at the bright side, you can throw garbage wherever you want, without being warned, or you can just, instead of being rightful, be corrupted. A land of opportunities indeed watching things from this perspective, Serbia isn’t such a bad place to prosper after all.

On the other hand, some of disadvantages like doing nothing against poverty could not pass without being mentioned.

If all those people, who waste their precious time and money, spent time doing something useful, this country would be far worse place for all those who are enjoying the graces of corruption, which brings us to our second, but not negligible disadvantage – injustice.

To sum up, there are arguments that point out my sarcasm, but it should rather be considered as a message for all those who think that Serbia is a cruel and dark place.

- Come to Serbia - it’s fun being abused!
