Report on Security Situation at Residential Summer School
by Ana Golubović, Lingva
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to describe the general security situation at school by giving examples of security issues which concern students and to give some suggestions for improvement of the current state.
As preparation for this report, I collected interviews conducted with students and processed them to see what is the most important thing we need to react to.
Current situation
Most students I spoke to feel unsafe in different ways. Recently,  lots of intruders have been noticed on the premises, which has caused  concern among students. In addition to this, the number of thefts is on the constant increase. Mobile phones, money and portable computers are in the center of attention of thieves. Also, one of the most disturbing things is the case of arson in one part of school library which could have been committed by some of our students, too.  However, the most serious situation was the incident of violence and sexual harassment of one female student by an unknown visitor.
Recommendations
It might be good to install CCTV cameras in the hall, which would be directly connected with the principal and teachers’ offices. In case this idea is too expensive for the school budget, students could collect small amounts of money to help. The second important thing is to always have two students on duty at every school entrance. They should write down ID card numbers of every person who enters the school. In the end, all students and teachers should be made aware of how important this is, because of their own security.
